Weird Years Season I Production Nearing Completion!
Weird Years at Mercury
Mercury Filmworks recently signed on to produce 26 half hour episodes of the new teen comedy, Weird Years with Toronto’s 3J’s Productions and Lenz Entertainment.
This wildly-unpredictable sitcom follows the Dorcovitch’s - twins Ivan and Nadia, their parents Donko and Magda, and their grandma Zozo - a family of newly landed immigrants from the fictional country of Kryobia as they attempt to navigate the choppy un-chartered waters of North American culture with good values, love…. and without looking like total idiots.
Executive Producers are Peter Moss (Mischief City), Jack Lenz (Nanalan), and Clint Eland (Mischief City, Gerald McBoing Boing).
Produced by David Rosen and directed by Jerry Popowich (Mischief City, Undergrads). Creative Producers Jason Hopley and Jamie Shannon (aka The Grogs) (Nanalan, Michael's Island) with Executive Story Editor Larry Merkin.
The series will be produced at Mercury's Ottawa animation studio with voice records, audio post and music services provided in Toronto by Lenz Entertainment. Scripts are already in progress and the series is expected to air on YTV in fall 2006.
