Mercury wraps-up first season of Gerald
Mercury Filmworks is pleased to announce the wrap of production on the first season of GERALD MCBOING BOING, an animated series based on Dr. Seuss’ literary classic of the same name.
Developed and produced almost entirely in-house at Mercury’s Ottawa animation studio for kid’s power-house Cookie Jar Entertainment and New York’s Classic Media, the 52 x 11minute series currently airs daily on Teletoon in Canada and the Cartoon Network’s “Tickle U” block in the US.Aimed at children 4-8 years old, GERALD MCBOING BOING is the story of a little boy who can only talk in sound effects. A fun and nurturing property, GERALD MCBOING BOING shows children that even a boy who speaks in sounds can attend school and make friends - even if he might frustrate his harried father.
Directed by Emmy award wining director Robin Budd (Beetlejuice, Peter Pan) and Story Edited by John Derevlany, the series was produced by Clint Eland, John Vandervelde and Steven Hodgins under Supervising Producer Natalie Dumolin and Executive Producers Michael Hirsh and Lesley Taylor for Cookie Jar and Classic Media’s Evan Bailey.
