Happy Thoughts Equal Magic at the Pixie Awards!

The most famous pixie of all time once said that in order for magical things to happen you need to think of a happy thought. Working with this precious sentiment in mind on the much-anticipated “Stella & Sam” series, Mercury Filmworks in partnership with Radical Sheep now has its own magical news to share – a coveted Pixie Award for Animation!

Designed to recognize outstanding creativity in animation, motion graphics and effects, the Pixie Awards announced Mercury Filmworks as this year’s winner for bringing to life a delightful animated series based upon the award-winning books created by Canadian author and illustrator, Marie Louise Gay.

Exquisitely preserving the original panoramic views that convey the vastness of a child’s world, “Stella & Sam” celebrates the magical wonder and imagination of childhood.  Follow the heart-warming stories of a little redheaded girl, Stella, her doting younger brother, Sam, and their small entourage of equally adventurous pals as they explore the wild spaces of their world and travel into the realm of fantasy.  Punctuated with moments of honest humour, colourful settings that embrace the natural world, and an unabated passion for appreciating the simple yet wondrous discoveries of life, “Stella and Sam” is a refreshing journey into the greatest adventure of all – growing up.
