2D Digital Animator
Type: Full-Time Employee.
Salary: Varies. Pay is by approved frame. Medical/Dental benefits available. RRSP plan.
Start Date: Immediately. Work schedule is flexible. Out of province animators are welcome.
Job Description: We are currently seeking experienced 2D Digital Animators for several exciting high-profile productions with worldwide exposure.
Position Requirements:
Must have strong sense of animation timing. Must be flexible, willing to learn, and be highly motivated to push the envelope of what is possible in order to create beautiful, memorable animation.
This position is an excellent opportunity for highly skilled and motivated animators who enjoy being part of an elite team of animation professionals. Pay is highly variable and based entirely on productivity and quality. High performance individuals will have an opportunity to make director-level compensation without regard for seniority. LightingTD (Senior & Junior)
Type: Full Time Employee
Salary: $45,000 - $70,000 - Medical/Dental benefits and RRSP Plan available
Start Date: February 2012
Job Description: We're on the hunt for a top-notch Lighting TD that can create and adjust principal lighting for all scenes and in various 3D environments. This individual will ensure characters and their surroundings are enhanced in every shot using technical skill and aesthetic judgment. The Lighting TD will work within a dynamic team to integrate elements such as shading, compositing, and visual effects to render captivating content.
Position Requirements:
- Must have experience rendering with Mental Ray and Maya software.
- Must have advanced knowledge of Maya's shader network.
- Must be able to communicate artistic and technical concepts clearly and concisely in either verbal or written format.
- Must have an exceptional eye for lighting detail - referencing shadow casting, colour influence, and mood.
- Must be able to implement directional, point, spot, area, ambient and volume lighting to any scene.
- Experience with other rendering solutions is considered an asset.
- Experience with television animation is considered an asset.

Job Description: A Visual Effects TD is a specialist that can simulate real world phenomena in 3D. This may consist of adding elements into scenes such as water, wind, fog, smoke or explosions for animated television and film. The Visual Effects TD we are in search of requires a strong balance of artistic sensibilities, technical skills, problem solving abilities, and an unwavering attention to detail.
Position Requirements:
- Must have full working knowledge of Maya Dynamics & Effects.
- Must have experience in particles, fluids, hair and cloth.
- Must be able to communicate artistic and technical concepts clearly and concisely in either verbal or written format.
- Must have a strong sense of weight and timing to judge whether motion appears natural or convincing.
- Experience with television animation is considered an asset.

Job Description: Mercury Filmworks is looking for talented 3D artists to drive pre-visualization, modeling, texturing and rendering. The successful candidate will work well on a multi-faceted team to produce stunning children's animation productions for television.
Position Requirements:
- Must have full working knowledge of Maya software.
- Must be highly efficient, highly effective, and driven to meet production deadlines.
- Must be able to communicate artistic and technical concepts clearly and concisely in either verbal or written format.
- Must have experience with modeling and texturing on animated productions.
- Experience with character rigging is considered an asset.

This individual will possess an uncompromising attention to detail, strong work ethic, leadership skills, broad creative talents, and advanced technical experience with 3D animation software.

- Must have advanced working knowledge of Maya software.
- Must have experience with long form television animation.
- Must have a strong understanding of traditional animation concepts.
- Must be able to communicate artistic and technical concepts clearly and concisely in either verbal or written format in order to guide team members.
- Must have the ability to coach or train junior animators.
- Must have the ability to lead and manage diverse personas, while showcasing animation talents in a team environment.
- Must stay sharp on the quality and detail of the production while having a sound awareness of schedules and deadlines.
